LDAH is the Parent Training & Information Center (PTI) for the state of Hawai`i.
As of 2015, LDAH works with its new partners to bring PTI services to American Samoa, Guam, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
As a PTI, LDAH and its partners provide information and referral, mentoring and advocacy, and education and training to parents and family members of children with disabilities and the professionals who serve them.
If you’re a first time caller, a Parent Consultant will gladly provide and send you an Aloha Packet with information and resources to assist you with your child with a disability.
Parent Consultants will assist you by gathering information about your child, listening to your concerns and by providing you with suggestions and resources to guide you as you strive to meet your child’s education and disability needs.
Individual Assistance, Mentoring and/or Advocacy are available to you until your child’s needs are met.
Become a “Parents as Partners” (PAP) volunteer and use your experience with the support of LDAH staff and training to help other families in need. Help us reach parents and professionals in your community.
Help us to improve service systems for children with disabilities and to increase parents’ meaningful involvement in their children’s education
Our interactive workshops include training on special education, disabilities and disability awareness, and state and federal disability law for parents and professionals to help meet the needs of children and youth with disabilities.
Workshops are available to the public, throughout the state.
SRP provides services for families of preschool aged children on O`ahu, Molokai, and Hawai’i Island.
We provide developmental, social-emotional, hearing, vision and autism screenings.
Our Mobile Screening Unit is fully operational and ready to provide screening services in your neighborhood!
