Keynote Speakers

Dr. Patricia Sheehey and Patrick Sheehey, M.Ed.

Patricia H. Sheehey, Ph.D. is a professor and Patrick Sheehey, M.Ed. is a lecturer in the Special Education Department at the University of Hawaii Mānoa. Together they have
over 75 years of teaching experience including general education, special education,
and higher education. Their emphasis areas include family advocacy, culturally
responsive education, students and families with severe disabilities/autism and early
childhood education. They are also the parents of 11 children two of whom had
disabilities, one with significant intellectual and physical disabilities and the other with
learning disabilities.
